Adding Insult to Injury

Monday, April 28th, 2008

As some of you may know, in the beginning of April I was forced to close my North Hollywood location. It was what I call a perfect storm of events, but the bottom line is my lease was up and the owner of the building was selling it, which meant I had to go.

It was a very sad thing (to say the least) for me to close the gym that I love.  It was my first gym and I had worked my butt off to make it a great place to workout for 6 years. But things happen and it was time to move on.

Curves Lightens You Up

Thursday, April 24th, 2008

First off let me say that if you ever find yourself with time to waste or simply bored head over to http://break.com.  It is filled with hysterical videos & pictures that for the most part are only mildly inappropriate.  It was on Break.com that I found the following picture so now on to our story….

I get a lot of "Curves" refugees. So for the most part I am glad they are there. They are what they are, and if you are a Curves devotee than good for you- I applaud your effort. I know that for some people it is just what the doctor ordered (sometimes literally). Just because I think that it is a wussifed version of what a workout should be, well it is just my opinion. And as you know opinions are just like, well you know.

A Matter of Degrees

Thursday, April 17th, 2008

I love my wife, but she is crazy – granted I knew that going in. We have been together for 15 years and married for 10 of those.  If there is one consistent argument we have had it has been about what is a constitutes a comfortable room temperature. As stated above – she is crazy, (and of course I am right.)

I will will admit to being a temperature wuss.  I am a California boy, born and raised.  This means there is a very narrow temperature window that I can tolerate.  I do not know how others can stand the massive temperature swings in other parts of the country.

Burning Your Britches

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

In days of old, generals would burn bridges they crossed to prevent any sort of retreat. Captians of the sea would similarly burn their boats upon reaching their destination. This was their way of all but ensuring success, and of course motivating those in their charge. After all, if there is no other option, like turning back) success looks pretty good. Now on to you…

I have said it a million times to clients who engage in my fat loss programs- when you lose the weight, ditch the fat clothes.  Here is my advice: Burn Your Britches.

Success Story: Josie

Tuesday, April 8th, 2008

Josie has been working with us for a while now, and her results have been tremendous.

I signed up to work out with Carter Fitness in August 2007. I had slowly put weight back on, and couldn’t fit into my summer clothes from the year before. Working out was always a chore – since starting at Carter Fitness I’ve dropped 3 dress sizes, and almost 15 pounds – but I’ve added amazing muscle tone and feel great in my new clothes. I look forward to my workouts and even go in on extra days to do more!  Amazing!  Josh B  makes my workouts so much fun and both he and Josh C are always so encouraging. Thank you!

Scales Lie Too pt.2

Tuesday, April 1st, 2008

2 weeks ago I ended the 4 Minute Fat Loss trial group.  The results were absolutely incredible and surpassed my wildest expectations. (FYI I am hard at work putting a comprehensive 4 Minute Fat Loss program that should be ready soon). Anyway back to my story…

Carla was one of my 4 Minute Fat Loss volunteers.   In true rock start style this 45 year old mother of 4 truly kicked ass on the program.  She followed the workout and nutrition plans to a  "T" .  I knew her results would be off the charts – but then I was shocked.
