And Knowing is Half the Battle…

If spending hundreds of hours watching GI Joe when I was a kid taught me anything it is this: Knowing is Half the Battle.  Thank you, Joe.

For those of you who were not Joe Junkies, in each GI Joe episode, they would have a little PSA (public service announcement) teaching impressionable young boys such as myself a valuable lesson.  (Here is a link  to the first one on YouTube. )

I Want Candy

candyApparently I am in the wrong business. 

A recent article in the New York Times has brought to my attention that the candy business is booming.  I guess when the economy leaves a bad taste in your mouth it pays to be sweet.

The candy giant Cadbury posted profits up 30% last year.  Other big boys like Hershey and Nestle also saw increased profits in the last 12 months.  Willy Wonka would be proud.

It seems all is grand in Candy Land.

Carrot Cake Anyone???

In my internet travels I come across unusual food pictures every now and again.  Here is one of carrot cake.

Uh, wait….I hate to break it to you, but that ain’t carrot cake- that’s meat cake.  With mashed potato and ketchup frosting.

Somehow, that is just wrong.

* What’s With The Hulk:  When I travel without my kids, I always take them with me the best way I can.  On my recent series of trips I brought a small action figure of  The Incredible Hulk along for the ride.  I take pictures of the green guy wherever I go, and then share them with the kids upon my return.
