Math was never my strongest subject (although I was ok). Actually from about 8th grade on I copied all much some of the homework from a guy in my class who went on to be a math teacher.
That goes to shows I can really spot talent
The funny thing was I always scored higher than him on the tests (on which I DID NOT cheat.)
But I digest…
Fish oil is a wonderful thing. But most of you are not taking near enough.
What if I told you you could ditch your high blood pressure / high cholesterol / heart / diabetes medication if you took an adequate dose of fish oil? What if you could actually CURE the underlying issue instead of just cover it up with prescription meds.
Well maybe, just maybe you can.
Don’t ditch your prescriptions just yet – but let’s start with a little lesson in Fish Math. Check out the video below, a very simple primer on fish oil…
Post below with any questions.

PS: Notice the dark circles under my eyes in the video? Well for that I would like to thank the recent Daylight Savings switch, and more specifically my 2 children who are completely unclear on the concept.

Thanks Josh, I checked out mine that I take, it is 540mg of the EPA/DHA. so I guess I need to take more than the 1 capsule I was taking a day…. Leonis my son also takes 1 of these a day (should have figured out my large body needs more than his small body….) gonna get a glass of water and take a few more right now.
will get Costco brand when this bottle of Nortic Naturals runs out.

Just curious about your thoughts on krill oil, such as the EFA Icon from Prograde?
My understanding is the krill is considered a high quality source of EFAs, but you still need to get a sufficient quantity. I have not seen anything that says you can get away with taking less *if* the EFAs come from krill. That *might* be the case – I just haven’t seen anything about that yet.
Great post Josh. I know taking fish oil is a good thing but never really understood what the “things” were that made it so great. Good news on the anti-inflammatory front as I currently take a Rx right now for some back issues. I’m starting a fish oil regimen asap!
Thanks again! ~JP
Thanks for the reminder – it’s in my fridge – I’m going to go and take mine right now. YUMMY, I love my lemon flavor fish oil!
Good post…however, now i’m curious. the first pill you mentioned was 300mg of EPA and 700mg of ??? to to get the recommended daily amount i would need, like you said 20 capsules to get 6000mg. but that means i’m taking in 14000mg of ???. So i’m really taking 20,000mg total…but will taking that quantity of EPA be out weighed by the 14000mg of ???. And if so, is that why they recommend lower doses because its not pure EPA, its mixed with other ingredients?
I’m not up on all the fish oil capsuls have, but it got me thinking. Thanks josh. Hope all that made sense, i almost confused myself:-)
