Barbara – is that you?

Sunday, June 14th, 2009

I just read a post by my colleague and nutritional guru Jonny Bowden.  He wrote a piece (with accompanying video) on what he calls the Barbara Bush Syndrome.

Let me Cliff Note it here for you:

For the historically impaired,  before President George W. Bush, his daddy was our president – George H. W. Bush.  And our first lady was his wife, Barbara Bush.

Well the the powers that be behind the powers that be believed the first lady had an image issue.  For one thing she looked significantly older than the president, appearing more like his mother than his wife.  And as we all know, image is all that any cares about right?

Leaving Las Vegas

Wednesday, January 28th, 2009

Last weekend I had the opportunity to visit Las Vegas on someone else’s dime. My wife Denyse had gotten roped into a timeshare presentation, with one of the free gifts being 3 days in Vegas. So we figured what the hell.

I have only been to Vegas once, and it was about 12 years ago. I heard things were different but…

C’mon baby, finish what you started

Saturday, November 1st, 2008

Sometimes, when I’m  just about spent after a workout I like to do what are called "finishers".  As they name implies, they finish you off. (not like that you perv)

Generally a "finishers" are a small sequence of moves that will take you from almost "Oh man I am wiped" to "I think I’m gonna hurl".

Oh yeah, my kinda fun.

Finishers are especially effective in fat loss programs as they add a serious metabolic boost to the workout the effects of which can last for up to 48 hours.

28days

In late December of 2007 I was approached by a few clients who were interested in trying a new nutrition plan they had read about called the “Velocity Diet“, or “V-Diet“. This is a short term, low calorie, low carb, high protein diet. Sounds scary right? It is, but as it turns out so are the results. Can you get 6 pack abs in 28 days? We’ll see…
